Pool table/game tables at wedding reception?
Hi there,
I am considering having a pool table at my wedding reception. Aside from the logistics, do you think this is a good idea?
We will be having ~130 guests, most of whom are family who I know won't dance. The girls will, but the guys... they're wallflowers. So, I was thinking rather than having them just sitting at the tables drinking all night, I'd get a pool table or some poker tables for them. My fiance thinks that it will distract even more from the dancing, though, and is against the idea.
What do you guys think? Attraction or distraction?
First, I must say how thoughtful you are being regarding the men. My husband does not like to dance either and it is extremely boring to sit while others do so. Second, the reception is the "party" part of getting married. You should do what you guys enjoy the most & your guest will enjoy as well. If they are mostly family/friends then I would get with a big majority of them and ask what their opinions are. Lastly, your fiance needs to understand that if the guest are bored....they won't stay long anyway! You can't make people dance if they don't want to. Playing cards may be a good suggestion, our family used to do that a lot and you don't need big tables for it. Hope I helped.
